Emree earned an Honours Degree in Music from Carlton University in Ottawa, Canada, where he was born and raised. While in school, he played with several ensembles, notably contemporary, fusion, jazz, and West African rhythm.
When describing his musical influences, drummer Emree Wilson turns to his family’s heritage. His distinctive sound is tinged by his Jamaican and South American roots and blended with a passion for funk, R&B, soul, jazz, and hip-hop.
Since moving to Toronto, Emree has played at some of the city’s most iconic venues, including The Rex Hotel, El Mocambo, and Grossman’s Tavern. Talented and versatile, he has made a name for himself for his passion and unique sound.
